Soldier Technology India 2008

3rd-5th November 2008
Intercontinental Hotel Eros, Nehru Place, New Delhi, India

IIn 2008-2009 India will spend over $26 billion on defence, focusing on upgrading and modernizing its existing capabilities to create one of the most advanced armies in the world. Through programmes dedicated to enhancing equipment and capabilities of the dismounted soldier including F-INSAS (Future Integrated Soldier As A System) and BMS (Battlefield Management System) the Indian Army aims to deploy soldiers to effectively counter militant insurgency in India and become one of the world’s leading armies.

With a high level of government investment and an emphasis on self-reliance managed through the offset regime, India’s future defence capabilities depend on the ability of indigenous equipment manufacturers of all sizes to build strong relationships with international defence contractors and system integrators. But with changing infantry requirements and challenging defence procurement procedures this is no easy task.

Soldier Technology India is the first international conference and exhibition dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of India’s dismounted forces through closer collaboration with the global soldier modernization community. With experience organising the two biggest soldier modernization conferences – Soldier Technology Global and Soldier Technology US – we are pleased to introduce Soldier Technology India, the key forum in Asia to hear from and meet top military, police and industry figures overseeing modernisation of India’s dismounted forces.
